Dr. Brian Rizzo, DO, FACOOS

Dr. Brian Rizzo was born and raised in Erie, Pennsylvania. He earned his undergraduate degree from Grove City College and his medical degree from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Rizzo completed his medical internship at Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. Following this he pursued and obtained a dual otorhinolaryngology and facial plastic surgery residency in Erie, Pennsylvania at Metro Health Center (in conjunction with Hamot Medical Center and St. Vincent Health Center). He has been practicing in the Phoenix Valley since July 2000. Dr. Rizzo founded West Valley Ear, Nose and Throat, PC in December 2003. He serves as adjunct professor at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. Dr. Rizzo was voted Phoenix Magazine Top Doctor in ENT 2005, 2006, 2010, 2012.
Dr. James Osborne, DO, FACOOS

Dr. James Osborne was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. He earned his undergraduate degree in Pharmacy from the Ohio State University, and his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Osborne stayed in Erie, Pennsylvania and completed the combined medical/general surgery internship and the dual otorhinolaryngology and facial plastic surgery residency at Millcreek Community Hospital (in conjunction with Hamot Medical Center and St. Vincent Health Center). After residency, Dr. Osborne joined West Valley Ear Nose and Throat PC in August 2006. He is an adjunct professor at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. In addition he is a founding physician member of Utu Global Humanitarian Alliance. For every surgery that Dr. Osborne completes, a portion of that amount goes to Utu Global Humanitarian Alliance to fund a much needed surgery for a patient in a medically under served area of the world. He hopes to one day take this humanitarian philosophy to personally care and perform surgeries for those patients in those under served communities.
Dr. Bryan Smedley, DO, FACOOS

Dr. Bryan Smedley joined our practice in 2017. He was born and raised in Layton, Utah. His undergraduate degree was from Brigham Young University in 2005. He completed his medical training at Midwestern University Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2010, where he was selected into a pre-doctoral teaching Fellowship in Osteopathic Manual Medicine. Residency training was completed at Oklahoma State University Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2015. He served as Chief Otolaryngology resident for two years (2013-2015). He was also selected as Resident of the Year for the entire hospital in 2015, which included over 120 residents and fellows from 11 training programs. Dr. Smedley speaks Mandarin Chinese and served as a volunteer service missionary in Melbourne, Australia (1999-2001). He and his wife lived in Beijing, China in 2002. They love raising their children and family pets. He fell in love with the field of ENT at the age of 11, when he underwent an ENT procedure. After his recovery, he felt so much better that he said “I want to do that for people.” He loves to provide all areas of Otolaryngology care for patients of all ages, including children.
